Traci Brooks is a poet, public speaker and writer. Since graduating from San Francisco State University in 1991, she has continued to seek knowledge and understanding of self in order to learn, grow and teach. She is dedicated to the empowerment and upliftment of Black people and seeks to express that spirit in her poetry. Stepping Into Womanhood is Ms. Brooks' first published work. Currently she is at work on her second title. "In the spirit of our tradition of spoken word, I have compiled the works that appear in Stepping Into Womanhood. It is a great blessing from the Creator to manifest my thoughts in the form of poetry and allow others to experience the essence of my being. I thank any and all of you that take the time to intake my work. I truly believe that, in some way, each person, will be able to relate to my experience. For I am because you are and you are because, I am." |
