About the Book Rick Phillips is a successful marketing executive leading what he considers a comfortable home life with his wife, Vivian, and their daughter. But Viv reveals that she's seeing someone else -- and Rick's determination to make things right again leads him down a disastrous path... Through therapy with Naomi Alexander, a psychiatrist with an uncanny knack for sensing what is wrong with the picture, Rick and Viv attempt to salvage their marriage and find renewed passion for each other. Naomi however, knows that all is not as it seems. Like Sweet Buttermilk incorporates elements of love, irrational devotion, and revenge. At the heart of the story is an exploration of the emotional boundaries within what appears to be an ordinary marital relationship.
