- Thumper, AALBC.com Here's a little bit of the story. Four black men call a 900 number date line to find available black women. Kevin, a young 23 year old black man, is in New York teaching phys ed after he blew his chance to get a NBA contract. Antoine, one of Kevin's best friend, is looking for a black woman that has the same interests that he does; poetry, literature, and not a head bobbing, neck snapping street sister. Tyrone, Kevin's other best friend, is a school security guard recovering drug addict, and would be artist. Tyrone just wants a sex partner. Maurice is a married man that charms women, but has secrets buried everywhere. Maurice is on the prowl for more victims. Lookin' For Luv tells how these four men lives becomes entangled when they all call 1-900-BLACK-LUV. The consequences are romantic, action-packed, and funny. Lookin' For Luv is loaded with drama! The book captured and held my attention in a vise. The four male lead characters are not perfect and have their own flaws. I like that. The story moves at a fast clip. It's tight. I will dare say that it's the best contemporary novel written this year. This is how it's done. Lookin' For Luv is the contemporary novel that I look forward to reading on those rainy Saturdays when I don't have anything to do and nothing is on TV. I oooh-ed and awe-ed all through this book! I highly recommend Lookin' For Luv. Check out, you won't be disappointed at all! I'm proud to say that the field has just gotten a little wider with the addition of Carl Weber. He's doing it the way I like it be done! I'm not playin' with y'all. If you love E. Lynn Harris, McMillan, etc, you might want to seriously give Weber a look |
