Linda, is a author and native of Cincinnati, currently residing in Indianapolis with her husband. She began her writing career as a child and has been writing ever since.

She is a member of Black Writers Alliance, Mid-West Black Writers, The Black Writers Poetry Group and Etheridge Knight, Inc. She has written for the Litline Newsletter, recited poetry for the Delta Regional Covention and various schools. Her works can be found on Timbooktu and Storytale.com and in Mosaic Magazine. She is also a featured author on Authorsden.com

She recently released her first novella, Althea, a story of a young girl struggling to fit in. Linda, presently writes reviews for AALBC.com and is a contributing writer for The Opinion Magazine.

When she's not reading, she's writing or chilling with her two mininature dobermens, Chancey and China and hubby, Levi.

Synopsis
The story of a light-skinned, thin-lipped freckled face little girl who struggles to learn what it really means to be black or any shade of it.

Excerpt from Chapter One
In 1962, Aunt Darnella was one of the few colored people who lived in Clifton Heights, the white gaslight district of Cincinnati. Perhaps that is why, one Friday night, two blocks from her apartment, she was murdered. They found her blood-soaked body under a lamp post. Since, I was only five years old at the time, it took Mama all Saturday night, to make me understand, though, that my Aunt Darnella was gone with the angels--"Gone up to heaven."

We spent most of Sunday packing our suticases for the trip to Virginia, where Aunt Darnella would be buried. Mama claimed she didn't have the strength to go to church, face the nosey folks that would be askin' bout Aunt Darnella or to overhear the gossip that was surely being spread. I knew it was 'cause her heart was broken. I heard her low mournful crying the night before--late in the night when she thought I was sleep.
