Where I'm from

I'm from a vision writen in djembe rhythms,
from a scream animated afrikan idiom.
That's where I'm from.
I'm from rivers Nile and Niger,
from Maroon sun down uprising fires,
from painless sacrifice and pure desire,
That's where I'm from.
ASHE!

I'm from blak magic, ancient fabric, life tragic and true.
Heavinly skys blue, green pastures, light hole passages,
and mental mountain views.,
That's where I'm from.

I'm from a psychokenetic, cosmogenetic, pre-kemetic philosophy,
I'm from a mystical ritual of spoken coreography.
I dance with triumph and toy with defeat.
I'm a child of majesty from the highest peak.
That's where I'm from.

I'm from the pain of love in labor, the breath of life I savor,
I'm from the kingdom of ubiquity, the realm of pre-antiquity,
from nights of power and prose, from the poetry my ancestors
composed, I rose, and That's where I'm from.
