From the author
I'm excited to announce that my new novel, "And
Then Came You" is getting exceptional reviews! I
look forward to hearing and reading your feedback about "And
Then Came You."
One year ago we celebrated the birth of my
first novel, "Whispers
in the Night." I'm
proud to say it's doing well. My
next novel, "You're Mine" is in the process of being sold, look
for it in 2001.
I have this unyielding belief that love can conquer
just about all. Hence the reason I enjoy writing about topics that impact
African American community while also sprinkling in a love story of two
people fighting to overcome their own personal issues will continue to be
an underlying theme.
Thanks readers for all the wonderful notes
and letters. Do keep in touch!

Patricia Ryan is the board president of a
community center for at-risk kids. She is actively soliciting supporters to
protest the sale of the center to the Mackenzy-Duran Distribution Company
that is looking to demolish the building and by doing so, the dreams of the
underprivileged youth who depend on it. Mac Carter, co-owner of Mackenzy-Duran,
has interest not only in expanding his company, but also in Patricia.
Despite their professional differences, Mac longs to whisper in the night
all the loving words Patricia needs and wants to hear.
There is an underlining story of three African American
women (girlfriends) supporting each other as they strive together to fight against the
odds. Other themes for African Americans in this book:
What can we do to help at-risk black kids in poverty
Corporate America vs. urban development
The need to support the Creative Arts in our community
The struggles and successes of "remembering to have
dreams to chase"
A story that sparks conversation

Marva Brown
"WOW!!!!! I truly enjoyed it
You had my attention from
the start (I read it in one day)." -- Michelle Singleton

Romantic Times
" I was up late at night reading because I wanted to know what
would happen next." -- Phyllis Fuqua
"The reading of Whispers in the Night, is not accomplished
without stopping and visualizing the scenes, the details are so vivid. Your ability to
blend the needs of a community, the inner workings of a successful advertising firm and
trucking company (the ups and downs,) intertwined with a negative hood mentality and all
smoothed over (but not at all distorted) by true love and friendship, convictions, strong
family values (especially Mothers Love) and last but not least, fiery passion, all so well
and tastefully depicted." -- Luke Gilbert
"I enjoyed Whispers in the Night!... ESPECIALLY
the recurring theme of "things aren't always as they seem" --
Stephanie Twitty
"It is a moving story of people caught in a conflict between
corporate growth and urban decay." -- Kansas City Globe
"This was a nicely constructed story line and a
good beginning for this new writer." -- Affair de Coeur
